Before you Temu it, Junkie it
Cheap and fast isn't always cheap. Before you click buy on another flat-pack shelf or polyester top, here's how to find something secondhand that's better made, often cheaper, and already in NZ.

Step by step
Step 1: Search Junkie first
Type what you need into Junkie before you open a fast-fashion app. Furniture, homewares, kids' gear, tools and clothes all turn up secondhand, often from someone down the road.
Step 2: Compare what you actually get
Look at what it's made of, not just the price. A solid timber chest of drawers, a wool jumper or a cast iron pan from the op shop will usually outlast several cheap new ones.
Step 3: Count the real cost
Add shipping, the wait and how long it will last. Something secondhand you can pick up this weekend, that lasts years, is often the better deal.
Step 4: Set a Wanted alert
Can't find it today? Post a Wanted and set an alert, and Junkie tells you when one is listed near you.
Step 5: Sell what you're replacing
List the old one on Junkie. You keep 100% of the sale, and it stays out of the landfill.
